In the interview she explains her mother would try to stop her growing because she was desperate to keep her child physically childlike. It's about sick parenting not beauty. It's an illness passed down to her and not a choice. People choose to be too skinny but they don't choose to be this sick. There's a difference between mental illness and conforming socially.
