Im mentally disabled and im lucky to have a bf who's serious and cares enough to help too. Sadly, idk if mental illnesses can be cured tho they can be stabilized with meds, and LOTS of support. Its sweet of you to consider helping her out but its an all or nothing effort as @underskyasphyxiation says.

I have to tell you, that this is not a disorder to take lightly. I have it as well, and I think that you should just stay there. She might act crazy, but this is something she can't go on with alone. <3 Good luck.

Mood stabilizers to even out the chemicals that control emotions. A lot of the time it's also genetic so your brain needs some help creating the right amount of chemicals

Your therapist sounds like they are well informed. The rumours are that borderline personality disorder, along with a number of other "disorders" are going to be removed from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual when edition 5 is released. This, for me, marks and end to classifications based upon expressed symptoms and move towards a greater understanding of the underlying causes that are being revealed by neuroscience and fMRI scans. |
